It is that time of year again where we will be Jamm’ing’ again the first weekend in May! Held since the first weekend in May 1977, Spring Jamboree is considered by many to be Boulder City’s first major public festival, kicking off the rest of the fun-filled, family-friendly events that follow throughout the year. The outdoor festival is held throughout four beautiful public parks located in the historic downtown district of Boulder City. Bicentennial Park is filled with hand-made crafts, vendors, food and entertainment. Throughout Wilbur Square, North and South Escalante Parks, you will find classic cars lining the parking lot and beautiful antiques for sale.
AS the major fundraising event for the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, Spring Jamboree began as a sidewalk sale in front of several member businesses in the historic district. Many volunteers back then never imagined the amazing event it would become.
The classic hot-rod car show features cars from all over the west, rows and rows of arts and crafts produced by skilled artisans, yummy snacks and drinks from food concessioners representing every ethnic origin and center-stage performers that entertain. A rock, gem and mineral show joined the event in 2015 which showcases earthen treasures and activities for the kids that will get their hearts pumping and energy levels to their peak.
The mission of the Boulder City Chamber is to promote business and increase visitation and tourism to Boulder City. Exciting events such as Spring Jamboree, accomplish so much more than this goal is by building a strong, vibrant economy for our quaint charming city. Make sure you check out the April 2017 edition of Boulder City Magazine for details on what Spring Jamboree brings to the local economy! +
